Dave is a partner and serves as the Firms Senior Investment Strategist, focusing on asset allocation and capital markets worldwide. Dave spends a great deal of his time analyzing private equity and real estate transactions.
Dave was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan Investment Management and at that time was responsible for over $200 billion dollars of institutional and personal assets. He is currently Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee to the NY State Teachers Retirement System, a $90 billion dollar pension fund. Dave also serves as a trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee for the Retired Clergy of the Episcopal Church in America, a $9 billion dollar retirement fund. In the past, he has also been a trustee of the Wenner-Gren Foundation, an entity devoted to anthropological research and publication. At one point in his career, Dave was also the Chief Investment Officer of the Oppenheimer Mutual Fund complex.
He graduated from Harvard College with a degree in history and subsequently went on to receive a masters degree in that same discipline from Hunter College in New York City. He also attended business school at NYU Graduate School of Business.
During his time at Harvard, Dave was a pitcher on the baseball team for four years and was an All Eastern League selection in 1958. For over 45 years, Dave has been an active fiduciary.
Dave and his wife Jean live in Weston Vermont, and have been happily married for over 49 years. A great deal of attention is paid to three children and nine grandchildren, along with some to golf and tennis.
